Eighteen years of building for the web, from agency work to product teams.
Full-stack developer and designer. I care about how easy an interface is to use as much as about everything that only shows when it breaks: back end, security, test suites, release pipelines, accessibility.
2023 to now Ninox, Berlin Senior software engineer
Ninox is a low-code database platform with web, desktop, iOS and Android apps and a scripting language of its own.
- Product improvements and maintenance: interface, core features, scripting language functions, native apps, modernising a legacy code base.
- Security of the web, iOS and Android apps: CORS and CSP policies, sensitive data in caches, disclosed keys, user enumeration, path traversal, outdated dependencies. Fixed XSS and CSRF issues and closed an arbitrary code execution path in the scripting engine.
- Audited and hardened the password reset flow of the account service. Found the weaknesses myself, wrote the fixes and shipped them before anyone else got there.
- Took over the end-to-end test suite and made it trustworthy: fixed the root causes of flaky tests, ran it in parallel against a nightly environment. Extended the suite to the native mobile apps on my own initiative.
- Tooling for the main repository: developer experience, tests, dead code analysis, code hygiene, Dependabot with test pipelines for the Gradle and npm projects.
- Reported security issues in internal systems outside my remit.
TypeScript, Node.js, Playwright, Allure, GitHub Actions.
2022 to 2023 Novadiscovery Front-end developer
Novadiscovery (now Nova In Silico) runs clinical trial simulations to predict drug efficacy and design better trials. I was on the front-end team of their SaaS platform, Jinko, for a little over a year.
- Knowledge management features: tools to collect scientific literature, annotate it and work on it together. Think of a real-time collaborative document editor designed for scientists.
- Trial monitoring screens.
- Multi-user editing in the wizards that set up a trial, so several scientists could configure one at the same time.
TypeScript, Vue.js, GraphQL.
2021 to 2022 OpenClassrooms Mentor
Weekly sessions with students new to programming, following the web developer track: HTML, CSS, Sass, JavaScript, React, SEO and accessibility. Reviewing their projects and helping them get unstuck.
2021 Actronika Code audit
Actronika makes haptic feedback technology and authors a node-based editor for designing it, built with Electron. A review of the code base, on request, to assess its quality and maintainability.
Electron, React, Redux, TypeScript, WebSockets.
2017 to 2021 Arte France Développement, Vanves Full-stack developer
Four years with the digital subsidiary of the Franco-German broadcaster, building for Arte and for cultural institutions.
- Lead developer for over a year on Educarte, Arte's video platform for schools. Maintenance and new features, single sign-on connectors for institutions (CAS and SAML), evolution of the Elasticsearch search, and the HTML integration in Thymeleaf, JavaScript and Sass.
- New website for Arte's digital productions: a headless CMS feeding a Next.js front end through GraphQL, faceted search with Elasticsearch, HTML and CSS integration with PostCSS.
- Front end of the Institut Français' cinema platform, in TypeScript with React, Redux and Redux-Saga.
- Front end of the Arte online store, in React.
- The European Film Factory website and e-classe.be, both in Java and Spring Boot.
